The Best Hot Chocolate

So superior to the one at Denmans, this one was served up at the Tea Rooms at Highdown Gardens, Worthing. Whippy cream, chocolate powder and a flake for the grand sum of £2.00 - bargain!

Dead Car

I wonder what the story was behind this. Found this dumped in the beautiful Sussex countryside

The Worst Hot Chocolate

This cup of hot chocolate cost me £2.25 in Denmans Gardens, Fontwell. No whippy cream or marshmallow bits. What a rip off.

Artistic Talent

Daisy Mae by Hazel Dove

I'm mad about cats and photograph them for a living. Hazel Dove is equally as mad about them as I am and paints them with amazing results. She is exhibiting her work at Leonardslee Gardens Art, Craft, Gift & Food Show on 12 & 13 July 2008. She will also have prints and cards for sale. If you can't wait till then, pop into The Victory Inn, Warninglid Road, Staplefield where she has a permanent exhibition.

Big Butts!

You never know what you're going to find in your local DIY store.

I just had to get a pic of these. While I was photographing them a lady passing me was at pains to tell me that she was not the model!

A Marked Resemblance?

Was having a bit of a wander round the beautiful city of Chichester when I came across the town centre's NatWest Bank. Reminded me of shops that used to have signs outside for what their business represented like a smiley pig face for a butcher or a candy stripe for a barber. I think this fellow situated on the front of the NatWest Bank aptly describes the business of banking!

Nanny State

There are several of these hastily scribbled signs lining Offington Lane in Worthing.

A quick CYA for the Health and Safety Brigade? Trouble is you are so busy reading what the signs say that you end up driving into one of the many potholes that have now spring up (or should that be down) in the road. Maybe instead of spending money erecting signs the funds could be put towards actually filling in the holes?

At last!

Have been trying to photograph Stopham Bridge at Pulborough for ages but each visit has been a failure due to weather. Everytime I would get a bit of blue sky I would be off only to arrive and find the blue skies have been replaced by wonderful shades of grey. But today I got the jump on the weather! One down and three thousand more landmarks to go!

My Hero!

I have long been a fan of Mike Maloney OBE from Amateur Photographer Magazine.  Got a phonecall this evening from the great man himself to say he's going to publish one of my pics - my punk monkey with a runny nose.

Such a nice man to talk to, no airs and graces just bucket loads of encouragement. Wish there were more like him!

Spring?

It may be just a few weeks since we were celebrating Christmas but for this pair of mute swans today 'Spring is in the Air'!

Deserted

It's a lovely clear bright sunny Saturday afternoon; where are the kids?

Snow Day!!!

Totally unheard of in Sunny Sussex. We actually had snow which lasted about 8 whole hours! A lot of time was spent nipping around to local landmarks to get rare pics of them adorned by snow. Never seen so many other snappers out and about. It really is a rarity here.

22 November 2006

Visited the Crypt Gallery at Seaford, East Sussex yesterday where a friend of mine, Lindsay Harman was selling some of her beautiful paintings. Pleased to say that her paintings got a fantastic reception and quite a few sales.

Some other amazing stuff on sale as well. Just fell in love with this beautiful pot. It was called ' The Comet'. It's the sort of piece that invites touching - I didn't though. Have a history of breaking things!
